  • Where do you deliver to?

  • I want to send gifts somewhere that's not listed.  Is this possible?

We deliver to the whole of Russia, the Ukraine, and to all the other countries of the Former Soviet Union.  If your desired destination is not on our list, then that most likely means that we will need to charge an extra fee for distant delivery.  Please contact us and we will gladly handle any and all questions you might have.  The amount of our distant delivery feel will vary according to the exact distance, weather, and geographical conditions.

 

  • What is the delivery fee for an unlisted location?

Most of our unlisted locations have a delivery fee that ranges from $19.95 to $34.95.  Please contact us to inquire about the delivery fee to a specific location.  After that, you can order on-line and select "Other City" for the city name.  Just specify your selected city's name in the "Street Address" field. 

 

  • Is it possible to contact the gift delivery office in my selected city of delivery?

Actually, all of our customer service is conducted via e-mail or phone by customer support representatives from our international offices.  Our trusted representatives will pass on any and all special instructions to our gift delivery agents and florists in your selected city of delivery.   

 

  • Can I add to an existing order?

For our customers' protection, we do not store any of your billing information on our servers.  Your credit card or PayPal information is deleted immediately after we complete your order, which means that we cannot charge your credit card again for any reason.  However, it is still possible to make changes to your order: all you need to do is contact us and we will help you make any changes necessary.  All that will be required is the re-submission of your payment information using a shorter form which we'll send you by email (additional payment over the phone is also possible).

 

  • When do you deliver?  Can you guarantee a specific time of delivery?

We deliver between 9 am and 9 pm in most serviced locations, local time.  However, we can certainly try to make exceptions if you have a special request in advance. 

  • Why do you charge my credit card in advance of delivering my order?

When you press the "Submit" button, you are authorizing us to charge your credit card in real time.  After ordering, you will receive an e-mail notification from VeriSign, our secure payment provider.  If you would like to place your order in advance and wait to charge your credit card, please place an Offline Order and contact us so that we can charge your credit then.  Please be aware, however, that we need to charge your credit card at least 3 business days in advance of delivery.

 

  • Can you deliver to an address without a phone number?

We can always attempt to contact your intended recipient in order to arrange the delivery, but if there is no phone number or if a phone number is not provided, we cannot guarantee the delivery on the date you request. 

 

  • What happens if my selected recipient is not at home?

If your intended recipient is not at home, you have a few options.  We can leave your gift at the door or with neighbors, we can place a note with our local phone number on the recipient's door, or we can attempt re-delivery for an additional fee.  Please note that if the delivery location is an apartment building, it is not suggested to leave the gift at the door. Please  contact us with questions, or please specify delivery instructions in Comments/Order Details field when you place your online order.

 

  • Are you able to verify an address for me?

We can certainly validate your specified address by sending over a local courier, for a cost of $40 USD.  To utilize this special service, please pay on-line with a credit card or contact us for payment instructions.  Please note: if we are unable to deliver because of an incorrectly specified address, we will apply your payment to cover communication fees, courier fees, and materials costs.  We will automatically subtract $40 USD or 40% of your order total—whichever is greater—if we are able to reuse the gift basket, or we will keep the entire amount if we are not able to reuse the incorrectly delivered materials or perishable goods.

 

  • I would like to add an item to my order.  Can you help me?

For your protection, we do not store your credit card information on our server. The information is deleted after the transaction has been completed. Consequently we cannot charge your credit card again later. It is still possible to make changes and to add an item to your order later but you would need to resubmit your credit card information. Contact us and we will solve this problem.

 

  • How do I place an order for a surprise delivery?

If you would like us to make a Surprise Delivery without us calling or contacting your intended recipient in advance, please make sure to request this in the Comments field of the order form.  When our representatives process your order, they will make sure to schedule the delivery without disclosing your name or the contents of the gift being delivered. 

Please note that we cannot always ensure that your intended recipient will be at home at the time of delivery.  If we need to make multiple attempts at delivery, we can no longer guarantee the liveliness of your flowers or other perishable items. We may also request that to pay additional delivery fees to cover extra trips to the delivery address. In summary Surprise Delivery is not a recommended way to order due to the reasons described above.


 How to Order

  • Select an item you would like to order by browsing our catalog: by category, recipient, occasion or budget.
  • Review and Select all desired product options (gift cart, wrap, picture of delivery etc.), then add product to cart by clicking:  at the bottom of the product page. Please note: you can add more than one product to the cart.
  • After you completed adding products to the cart Click:  button.
  • Make sure everything is correct in the shopping cart as expected and click:  button at the top right area of your screen.
  • If you are NEW CUSTOMER – please click  on the left. Otherwise you can enter your past order number or name/zip code combination and your previous orders will be recalled.
  • Fill out order form, which includes recipient information and billing address. Click Verify Order at the bottom of the page
  • Review all of the order details, choose one of the payment methods and complete the order. Shortly after making payment you will receive an email confirmation from us. Please contact us over the phone if you do not receive such email message (please make sure that our email address 'info at gifts-to-russia.com' is white-listed and not blocked by anti-spam software or your internet provider).


Status of Delivery and Confirmation

  • How do I receive confirmation of delivery?

At the end of your specified delivery day (US time), our local offices will send an electronic confirmation of delivery to your e-mail address.  In some cases, it may take up to 24 hours to deliver your confirmation, as some of our local offices are rather remote.  If your order is delayed for any reason, we will certainly notify you via e-mail or by phone.

 

  • I see that your Order Tracking page still shows that my order is In Process, but the delivery time has passed in my selected city.  Is there something wrong with my order?

Don't worry!  Sometimes it can take up to 24 hours to send our electronic confirmation of delivery.  More often than not, our order status database is updated within 4 to 6 hours of your delivery.  Some of our more remote locations do not yet have access to the Internet, so just hang in there and be patient with us.  All our updates are done by hand to ensure proper attention to detail, so please just check again in a few hours.   


Digital Picture / Video

  • Can you take a picture of recipient when my gift basket being delivered?  How much does it cost?

Yes, absolutely!  Take a look at our Photo Gallery to observe the reduced examples of our pictures.  Digital Picture Service is now FREE of charge in all serviced areas.

  • Can you guarantee that the digital picture of my delivery will be taken?

Unfortunately, we cannot guarantee digital pictures in any location.  Your intended recipient may decline to have his or her picture taken upon delivery or intended recipient may not be at the place of delivery at the scheduled delivery time. Additionally in certain locations (less than 5% of all cities) we cannot guarantee that the digital picture will be taken at all due to the lack of quality photo equipment. 

  • Will I be reimbursed for the picture if it is not taken?

We do not charge for the Digital Picture service and it is not guaranteed for many reasons as noted above. Therefore no refund will be processed in the event if digital picture wasn't taken.

  • I requested a digital picture, but I do not see it attached to the delivery confirmation method. Does that mean that the picture was not taken?

Many gift agents in small cities and towns across the Former Soviet Union still do not have access to digital cameras and therefore take longer to process the photos.  It may take up to 7 to 10 business days to develop the film, print the photos, send them to our regional office and scan them.  Please accept our apologies in advance for any delays with sending your digital picture via e-mail.

  • What is a Digital Movie of Delivery service and where is it available?

Currently, we offer Digital Movie of Delivery service in the following large cities:
Russia: Moscow, St. Petersburg, Belgorod, Kazan, Krasnodar, Vladivostok
Ukraine: Kiev, Kharkov, Odessa, Lugansk, Denetsk. 
Belarus: Minsk
The cost is $9.95 USD for a short movie clip (10 to 45 seconds).  We cannot guarantee the length of the clip as it depends upon the recipient's desire to be filmed.  After we deliver your gift, you will receive an e-mail with a link to the video file.


Additional Services

  • Can I attach a personalized note to the Gift Card?  Can I have it translated into Russian?

Of course you can attach a personalized note to any Gift Card ordered with your gift.  Just place your order: after you specify the address information at checkout, you will have the chance to type in the text of your note. 

We also offer FREE TRANSLATION of any message from/to English, Russian, French, German, Spanish to/from Russian or Ukrainian, as long as it is under 100 words.

For any message over 100 words, we charge $.05 USD.  We also offer regular translation service at discount prices.  We can translate to/from Russian, including letters, Visa documents, marriage certificates, and other documents as needed.

 

  • I would like to send a customized gift: can you help me?

Absolutely!  You are more than welcome to request personalized gifts for delivery.  We can accommodate most requests as long as the items are locally available. This includes: Custom Gift Baskets, Gift Certificates, Toys, Movie / TheaterTickets, Electronics or Jewelry. Please contact us for more details.

 

  • Can I send you my own picture to be attached to the order?

Yes, you can send us a digital picture of yourself via e-mail and we will print it on a color printer for delivery with the order.  The cost of this service is $5.00 USD per single photo.  Please, specify your order number in your e-mail.


Privacy and Security

  • Is my order information private?

Any information you provide Gifts-to-Russia.com is considered private information and will not be shared.  This includes your name, address, phone, e-mail address, and credit card information.  The name and address of your intended recipient is shared with our local florists, but with no one else.  For sceurity reasons a copy of your credit card information or PayPal account information is not stored on our database, which makes it impossible for hackers to steal.

 

  • How secure is my information?

As soon as you place an order, you are redirected to VeriSign, a secure order form.  By choosing this level of security, we are able to establish a secure connection between your computer and our server.  Using Secure Sockets Layering (SSL), an advanced encryption technology used to protect the storage and transfer of your data, we are able to keep your personal information from unauthorized parties.  Your order remains encrypted until it is safely behind the firewall of our order-processing center.  A copy of your credit card information or PayPal account information is not stored on our database, which makes it impossible for hackers to steal.

 

  • Does Gifts-to-Russia.com share my personal information?

In rare instances the private information you provide Gifts-to-Russia.com may be shared with the appropriate law enforcement officials or investigative authorities if we believe that such action is necessary to:

  • comply with the law;
  • stop credit card fraud;
  • protect against misuse of our website;
  • protect the personal safety of our site users or the public.

The purpose of this disclosure would be solely to identify, contact or bring legal action against anyone who would attempt to cause injury to another's rights or property.

 

  • I would like to place my order by phone rather than over the Internet.  Whom should I call?

You can either fax your completed order form to our US fax number: 1-425-905-0094, or you can prepare your order online and click "Order Offline" upon completing your order.  After this, we will contact you to complete your transaction over the phone. 


Local Customs

  • Why do Russians send 11 roses, rather than an even dozen? 

Russian custom dictates sending an odd number of flowers, except for sympathy arrangements, which must be composed of an even number of flowers.  This rule is not strictly followed when you are sending mixed arrangements but is very important when sending bouquets, such as a bouquet of roses.

In general, Russian customs do not differ much from the ones in Europe and in America.  Send roses when you're in love, send something bright and festive to help a friend feel better, and white lilies or carnations for a sympathy arrangement.

  • I've been corresponding with a Russian lady on-line and I would like to send her flowers for the first time.  What should I send her?

  • Do Russians celebrate Valentine's Day?  When do people traditionally send flowers or gifts?

The most popular holidays for sending gifts and flowers are Valentine's Day (February 14th) and International Women's Day (March 8th).  Also extremely popular are Christmas (both the Catholic and Orthodox occasions are widely celebrated).  In addition, special gifts are given for the New Year.
